Because They Deserve to See the World Clearly
Advanced Eye Care at Spring Vets Papamoa
Your pet’s eyes are delicate, complex, and essential to their comfort and quality of life. Even small changes can cause significant discomfort, and eye problems can progress quickly, so early assessment is important.
At Spring Vets Papamoa, we provide thorough, gentle eye examinations and tailored treatment plans for a wide range of eye conditions in dogs and cats.
Our focus is on diagnosing problems accurately, relieving pain promptly, and protecting your pet’s long-term vision wherever possible.
Experienced Veterinary Eye Care
Focused on comfort and clarity
Dione has completed a Postgraduate Certificate of Proficiency in Ophthalmology and has a special interest in diagnosing and managing eye conditions in dogs and cats. With many years of clinical experience, she is confident treating a wide range of ophthalmic cases – from painful red eyes and corneal ulcers to more complex or chronic conditions.
The eye is a delicate and highly specialised organ, and even small changes can have significant effects on comfort and vision. Because ophthalmic cases can be complex, having the appropriate diagnostic equipment is essential. Spring Vets Papamoa is equipped with the tools required for detailed eye examinations, enabling us to accurately diagnose and manage the majority of eye conditions in-house.
Spring Vets Papamoa often receives referrals from other local Tauranga clinics for more advanced or challenging eye cases.
When needed, Dione consults with specialist veterinary ophthalmologists or arranges referral for advanced surgical or highly specialised procedures, ensuring every patient receives the most appropriate level of care.
Services
Our Eye Care Services
Full Eye examinations
We perform comprehensive eye examinations using specialised lighting and magnification to carefully assess the eyelids, cornea, tear production, and internal structures of the eye. This allows us to accurately diagnose both sudden and long-standing eye conditions.
Tonometry (Eye Pressure Testing)
Tonometry is a quick and gentle test used to measure the pressure inside the eye. It is essential for diagnosing conditions such as glaucoma and monitoring patients at risk of pressure-related eye disease.
Eye Surgery
We perform a range of common ophthalmic surgical procedures, including entropion correction, cherry eye surgery, and other eyelid repairs, as well as selected corneal and soft tissue procedures. When more advanced or highly specialised surgery is required, we work closely with veterinary ophthalmologists to ensure your pet receives the most appropriate care.
