Dedicated Feline Healthcare
Focused on your cat's comfort and wellbeing
Cats have unique medical and behavioural needs that differ significantly from dogs. They are experts at hiding pain and illness. This means we need to be alert for subtle changes in behaviour, appetite, weight, or grooming which can be early signs of disease.
At Spring Vets Papamoa, we understand the challenges of feline healthcare and provide thorough, low-stress consultations designed specifically for cats. Our focus is on early diagnosis, preventative care, and helping cats enjoy the best possible quality of life at every age.
From kittens to senior cats, we provide compassionate, personalised care tailored to the individual needs of every cat and their family, while making each visit as calm and stress-free as possible.
Experienced Feline Healthcare
A strong interest in feline medicine
Cherie McLeod has a special interest in feline medicine and is currently studying towards Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (MANZCVS) in Feline Medicine.
Spring Vets Papamoa is proud to hold Silver Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation, recognising our commitment to creating a calm, low-stress environment for cats and their owners. From handling techniques and hospitalisation protocols to the clinic environment itself, we aim to make veterinary visits as comfortable as possible for feline patients.
Cats are masters at hiding pain and illness, and even the most attentive owners may notice only subtle changes when something is wrong. Small differences in behaviour, appetite, activity levels, grooming habits, weight, or litter tray use can be important clues. We are experienced in recognising and interpreting these signs, helping us identify health concerns early and intervene before problems become more advanced, supporting better long-term health and wellbeing.
We provide comprehensive feline healthcare for every life stage, from kitten wellness and preventative care through to the management of complex medical conditions in senior cats.

Our Feline Medicine Services
KITTEN & ADULT CAT HEALTH CHECKS
Regular health examinations help monitor growth, weight, nutrition, dental health, vaccinations, parasite control, and overall wellbeing. These visits provide an opportunity to identify health concerns early and keep your cat thriving throughout life.
MANAGEMENT OF FELINE MEDICAL CONDITIONS
We diagnose and manage a wide range of feline diseases including gastrointestinal disorders, skin disease, urinary tract conditions, endocrine disease, chronic pain, and complex internal medicine cases, working with specialists when required.
SENIOR CAT HEALTH SCREENING
Older cats are prone to conditions such as kidney disease, arthritis, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Routine screening allows earlier diagnosis and treatment, helping maintain comfort and quality of life.
